As someone who only had 20 people at their wedding, there will always be a special place in my heart for intimate small weddings. Mark and Jo had just that. A small intimate wedding in the woods of Hillsdale, NY. Surrounded by their very closest family and friends, they said their vows in front of a backdrop of trees. After, we spent some time taking advantage of the natural beauty of the area - the fields, the farms, and of course the cows. I had so much fun because Mark and Jo were up for anything! After portraits, they met back up with the rest of the guests at a unique air bnb for a lovely dusk dinner.
It was such a beautiful and touching day and I am so happy I got to be a part of it. Enjoy the photos :)

Ithaca, NY is one of my favorite places. It’s the city that lured me out of Maine when I went to College and it’s where I met and fell in love with my husband. It’s unique, beautiful, and full of campgrounds and delicious restaurants. So anytime I get a chance to shoot a wedding in Ithaca I am a happy gal. Maria and Jesse choose one of my favorite Ithaca Venues for their wedding day, The New Park Retreat and Event Center. A sprawling property, it boasts a streamside ceremony spot, a tented diner area, and enough character to make it impossible to ever get bored taking photos there.
The day started with Maria and her girls getting ready in one of the several cabins at New Park.
After hair and make-up was complete, Maria and I headed off to meet Jesse for their first look. Capturing the first look between a couple, whether during the ceremony or beforehand, is always a favorite part of my day.
After an afternoon of some portraits featuring the dock and lake, the beautiful house Jesse got ready in, and one of Ithaca’s vineyards, we headed back to New Park to meet up with the bridal party. I loved the color scheme that Maria and Jesse chose for their bridal party. The wine colored dresses work perfectly with the blue suits the guys wore.
Maria and Jesse had a touching ceremony under a beautifully adorned arbor, with flowers courtesy of Plenty of Posies.
After the ceremony, it was time to party, and this crowd did not disappoint!
Jesse and Maria wanted to incorporate something special into their day to honor the memory of Jesse’s father, so at the end of the night they surprised their guests with a firework show!
Maria and Jesse's wedding was spectacular and as always I'm so honored they chose me to document it for them. Enjoy the photos :)
Ellen & Rob
On an warm August Saturday, I arrived at the beautiful Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown, NY. It was here that I met up with Ellen and Rob as they prepared for their wedding. The day started out relaxed and joyful. I had fun photographing Ellen's details and incorporating the charm of the historic Otesaga into the images.
As the ceremony drew closer, both Ellen and Rob took a few moments to read a heartfelt letter from the other person.
After hair and makeup were finished, Ellen got dressed in one of the gorgeous suites at the Otesaga. She was joined by her mother and sister where they shared a champaign toast.
As Ellen looked down onto the lawn where her ceremony took place she couldn't help be nervous as an impeding storm was moving across the lake.
Despite the looming rain, the lakeside wedding went off without a hitch. Ellen and Rob were married before their family and friends. Just moments after the ceremony ended the skies opened up and a thunderstorm moved across the grounds!
After a brief but mighty thunderstorm, we took the time to take some portraits. I loved incorporating the ivy that covers the building walls into the images.
After our portrait session, we headed into the ballroom to kick off the party. The room was decorated with gorgeous floral arrangements by Village Floral.
During dinner, Ellen and Rob let me drag them back outside for a few more sunset photos. We headed down to the docks to take advantage of the gorgeous light and lakeside view. I always try to get my couples out for a few photos at this time of day!
After dinner the Clark Eno Orchestra got everyone up and moving.
Ellen and Rob are such a sweet couple and spending the day documenting their day was so much fun. I hope you enjoy looking at the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

The week leading up to Caitlin and Joe's wedding I found myself packing my rain boots and ordering a sweet purple rain poncho off of Amazon, while Caitlin and Joe arranged for backup locations in case of rain. But, even though a storm rolled through severe enough to set off everyone's emergency weather alerts during the ceremony, by the time we set out to shoot the portraits it had passed. We were left with a clear blue sky, little fluffy clouds, and a spectacular sunset.
Caitlin and Joe's wedding was such a pleasure to document; full of so much love and happiness. Enjoy the photos :).
