I met up with Amie and Chris is Fayetteville, NY for their engagement session. Amie had a wonderful idea, to relive their first date during our session. I always love it when couples choose locations or themes that are meaningful to them for their photos! We started at the now sadly closed Grover's table, took a quick pit stop at their favorite local dive bar, The Hornets Nest, and finished with a walk through the Canal Park just as the sun began to set. It was such a fun session and these two were so natural in front of the camera. I can't wait to meet up with them again in just a few months for their wedding day! Enjoy the photos :).
The last time I saw Niko and Filitsa we had just had a giant snowstorm and temperatures were well below freezing. Fast forward to their wedding day just a week and a half ago and we were met with one of the hottest days on record! Despite the crazy heat, these two remained cool and calm amidst the wedding day frenzy and I had so much fun spending the day with them. It was a perfect wedding to kick off my 2018 season with. Two amazing people were surrounded by so much love from their family and friends and I am so happy I was there to capture it all. After a beautiful mass at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church led by Niko’s father, the newlyweds headed over to the Grand Ballroom at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown to dance the night away. And I mean these guys could really really dance!! Enjoy the photos below :)
The day started at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, where the girls were pampered in the bridal rotunda and the guys hung out watching the soccer match.
We headed over to Franklin square for a touching first look and some bridal party photos. Then we hopped into the Limo bus and made our way over to St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church for the wedding ceremony.
The ceremony was extra special as it was presided over by Niko’s father.
We made a quick stop at the Thorndon Park Rose Garden to take advantage of the roses in full bloom.
Then it was off to the ballroom to party the night away!
On a Saturday morning in June, I hit the road with my gear and headed out for Skaneateles. Skaneateles is a favorite place of mine to shoot: there are loads of picturesque venues and it’s a pleasant and quick drive from home base here in Syracuse. On this day I was headed to the Frog Pond Bed & Breakfast. A small B&B nestled away amongst greenery, the Frog Pond is a tranquil location that can also host a rollicking wedding.
First, though, I met up with the boys at their hotel in the heart of Skaneateles. After the ties were tied, and jackets buttoned, Dan and his groomsmen enjoyed some beers as they toasted to the big day.
After a few photos with them I headed over to Frog Pond. I arrived to find Sarah calm and relaxed amidst the wedding morning frenzy. As the girls donned their dresses, Aubrey applied the finishing touches to Sarah’s flawless makeup. Then it was time for Sarah to hop into her dress and off we went to the Church.
Sarah and Dan had a beautiful ceremony at St. Mary’s of the Lake. It was touching and personal and quite funny! I loved watching the two of them interact with each other during the ceremony, sharing those small glances and looks that couples are known to do.
After a portrait session on the grounds of the Frog Pond, it was time to party. A tasty feast was followed by beautiful toasts and then hours of crazy dancing. It was a perfect summer day and I was thankful to be able to be a part of Sarah and Dan’s wedding. I wish you newlyweds the best in all the years to come! Enjoy the photos :).
